Disclaimer:  This tour is sponsored by the Blugold Marching Band as an educational experience for our students.  The BMB is not a travel agency.  Likewise, our tour company (Music Tours Unlimited) is an educational tour operator, not a travel agent.  This company takes care of all the travel and performance logistics and does it at a price that is far below what we would pay a travel agent.  The BMB in cooperation with Music Tours Unlimited will ensure that every traveler is accomodated safely and comfortably but we cannot provide the level of individual service that you would expect from a travel agent.
Rooming Choices
You have the choice of a double, triple, or quad occupancy room.  Please note the price differences below.  Your November payment will be adjusted to reflect your room makeup.  Until then everyone will be paying the same amount ($500) each month.

The price list below is based on your choice of occupancy on the ship.  We will keep the same rooming arrangements in the Tokyo and Singapore hotels if possible but many hotels in Asia do not offer quad rooms.  Therefore we will probably have to split some of the quad rooms into doubles for the land hotels.  We won't know this until closer to the travel date. It will not affect your price.
YOUR TRIP INCLUDES:
Roudtrip Airfare (Airfare includes one checked bag, one carry-on, and one personal item.  In most cases your instrument will be your carry-on.  The BMB will pay for large equipment that cannot be carried on such as drums, sousaphones, etc.)  Additional Baggage Information
        Minneapolis to Tokyo (with stops)
        Tokyo to Singapore (non-stop)
        Singapore to Minneapolis (with stops)
Ground Transportation between airports, hotels, and cruise port
Hotel Accomodations in Tokyo and Singapore including breakfast
    Complete Cruise Package
        Cruise fare
        Taxes and Port Charges
        Gratuities
        Meals while on the ship

NOT INCLUDED:
    Lunch and Dinner on Jan 8, 9, 10, 16 & 17)
    Optional excursions and guided tours.
Extra baggage apart from what is listed above that is not used for BMB

Unlike past BMB international trips this one is being done on a very tight budget.  To keep the cost around $3,000 it was necessary to eliminate the guided tours that we've provided in the past and let you decide what you want to spend your money on.  I can give you suggesions for ways to get around and what to see in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and to some extent Tokyo.  Royal Caribbean offers guided excursions of Kuala Lumpur and Phuket.  Some are worth the money and some are not.  We will have informational sessions on each location in November.

Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas
The Mariner of the Seas is the fourth largest cruise ship in the world.  Even if you are a seasoned cruiser you'll be impressed with the features on the Mariner.  I (Dickerson) traveled on the Mariner once before (Eastern Mediterranean in 2011) and 4 other times on the Mariner's identical sister ship.  It is a design that I'm familiar with and like very much.  The Mariner was built in 2003 and refurbished in 2012.  The center of the ship features a 4-story atrium area (Royal Promenade) of shops and restarants.  Other features of the ship include:
    3 Swimming Pools
    6 Hot Tubs
    Ice Skating Rink
    Rock Climbing Wall
    Full-size basketball court
    9 hole mini golf
    Casino
    Fitness Center & Spa
Savoy Theater which seats 1,362 guests (3 stories tall)
    3114 passengers
    1185 crew members

Those of you who traveled on the Costa Serena in 2012 will find this to be a very different experience.  The inside of the Mariner has high ceilings and large, expansive areas so you will never have a claustrophic feeling.  Also, the Mariner features outdoor activities with lots of pools and hot tubs.  It is perfect for our cruise which will be in 85 degree weather.
