“The Blugold Marching Band played a pivotal role in my education and leadership, and was especially instrumental in easing my transition to college. From the very beginning, I felt a strong sense of belonging at UW–Eau Claire, thanks to the incredible support of my section and the friendships I formed within the BMB. It gave me a community, a sense of purpose, and countless cherished memories—from rehearsals and game days to international travel. The BMB also ignited my passion for the marching arts and inspired me to pursue opportunities in Drum Corps, shaping my growth both as a musician and educator. Today, as a teacher, I proudly encourage my students considering UW–Eau Claire to join the BMB. The skills and experiences I gained there continue to influence how I teach and lead my own ensembles at River Falls.”
