“I still remember the first time I saw the Blugold Marching Band at the YIM Marching Band Competition in the early 2010s. I was blown away by the sheer size and power of the group, and I knew that if I ended up at UW–Eau Claire, I wanted to be part of it. The BMB gave me and so many others incredible experiences from halftime performances and exhibitions for high school students, to unforgettable travel opportunities. Along the way, I learned so much about myself, and developed leadership and life skills that still impact me in my career today. Whether you’re a music major or not, I can’t recommend the BMB enough. It was such a meaningful part of my college experience that I spent every year I was at UWEC in the band. You get to learn from some of the best educators in the Midwest while making amazing memories and having an absolute blast doing it!”
